Don't You Just Love Celebrities?

When they think that their opinions on subjects of politics or economics are of any consequence whatsoever? We are always hearing about how Alec Baldwin or Whoopi Goldberg, or the Dixie Chicks think that President Bush is a lizard who couldn't spell cat if you spotted him the c and the t. What amazes me is that these beautiful people actually believe that anyone is swayed by their opinions. Here we get to read from the Immaculate Alec Baldwin about Jeane Kirkpatrick and how we can defeat terrorism if we simply get rid of the CIA.

The simpleton celebrities seem to think that just because someone likes their acting or singing, that they will vote the way they tell them to. It doesn't occur to them that they don't know any more about these issues than the average Joe on the street.

For the most part, I simply ignore most of what artists have to say about politics, unless it is the ravings of an outright traitor like Hanoi Jane. I actually do like the Dixie Chicks' music and their political rants go in one ear and out the other. But sometimes I listen to their political posturing for pure entertainment value. And if they want to pose nude on another magazine cover, that's fine with me.
