Most of the stuff produced in the disco era was sheer crap. Donna Summer was a delightfull exception to that rule. While sitting here at my desk listening to Hot Stuff, I can't stop my feet from moving.
Seller of Munch's "The Scream" Says Image of Moment When We Realize Damage from Greenhouse Emissions

One of four surviving drawings of Edward Munch's "The Scream" recently sold at auction for nearly $120 million. That's well and good, because it is a quite interesting work of art. But get a load of how the seller, Mr. Petter Olsen, interprets the work:
Speaking to its enduring topical nature and present-day relevance, Olsen said "The image of 'The Scream' could make more of us fathom the magnitude of the consequences of our continuing emissions of greenhouse gases."
"For me, (it) shows the horrifying moment when man realizes his impact on nature and the irreversible changes that he has initiated, making the planet increasingly uninhabitable."
Or perhaps it is the 'horrifying moment' when we realize we have fallen for an obvious hoax and paid billions more for our energy than we needed to.

As if I Need Another Reason to Dislike Islam

Preparations for Lady Gaga's Jakarta concert continued on Monday as the event's promoter, undaunted by protesting Islamist organizations and a lack of a concert permit, released another 2,000 tickets for the sold-out show.

“We have already sold 52,000 tickets, not counting these 2,000 additional tickets,” said Michael Rusli, president director of Big Daddy, the concert's promoter.

“Public enthusiasm is very high,” he said.
The US pop star's Jakarta concert has attracted the attention of Indonesia's radical Islamist organizations, who have threatened to forcibly prevent Lady Gaga from stepping off her plane and have warned police that the singer will corrupt the nation's youth. The Jakarta Police responded on Sunday by recommending that the concert — part of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way Ball" tour — be canceled.
