Ronald Reagan

Here on Cuanas is a speech that Reagan gave in support of Barry Goldwater, during the 1964 presidential campaign. (Hat tip to Anchoress). I had never seen this speech before, and I am reminded of how magnificent Reagan was at making inspirational speeches.

But I disagree with Reagan on one minor point. Most on the left did not care to resist Soviet hegemony because they were afraid of nuclear war. Most of them did not want to resist it because they wanted to live in a totalitarian socialist state.
