"Weather Has Nothing to Do With Climate"

In yet another example of the abject stupidity of the Branch Carbonians, we get a surprising new non-fact:

Germans are losing their fear of climate change, according to a survey, with just 42 percent worried about global warming.

It seems the long and chilly winter has taken its toll on climate change sensibilities despite the fact that weather has nothing to do with climate [italics mine]. The latest figure is a clear drop from the 62 percent of Germans who said they were scared of such changes just last autumn.

Dontcha just love it? Saying that weather has nothing to do with climate is like saying weeks have nothing to do with years, or that years have nothing to do with centuries.

Just as a year is nothing more than a string of 52 consecutive weeks, the climate is nothing more than a string of successive weather. Weather is what is happening in the current hour or day. Climate is what the weather is like over the period of a year, decade, or century.

Thus, if we have unseasonably cold weather, and it continues for several years, we conclude the climate is getting colder. Are such simple concepts too difficult for the Branch Carbonians to understand? Apparently so.

The only thing more amazing than the Carbonians' stupidity is their hypocrisy. It was not long ago, when tmperatures were actually trending slightly upward, that the Carbonians would cite each little event as evidence of global warming.
