#18: Willie Nelson

He struggled throughout the fifties and sixties. Having plenty of success as a songwriter (e.g. "Crazy" recorded by Patsy Cline), but couldn't get anywhere as a singer himself until 'Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain'. The rest is history.
