Suppression of Free Speech in Scotland

Rangers football club fans were warned recently by their team that they could be subject to arrest for singing the "famine song" at Rangers matches.

RANGERS head of security and operations Kenny Scott said today: "It is important to be clear on the reasons behind last night's decision to put messages on the screens and scoreboards at Ibrox regarding the famine song.
"Following discussions with Strathclyde Police, it was made clear to the club that there was the potential for supporters singing this song to be arrested at last night's match.

"The decision to arrest anyone is one which is made not by the club but by the police.
"However Rangers Football Club took the decision that it was only fair to warn everyone coming to the stadium last night that this was the situation.

The 'famine song' refers to lyrics set to the tune of the Beach Boy's song "Sloop John B". The Rangers fans sing "The famine is over. Why don't you go home?" It is often sung to supporters of the Glasgow Celtics, the Ranger's chief rival. The Celtics are favored by many of the Irish, including most members of the Sinn Fein/IRA terrorist group.

This reminds me of what is being done to Joe the Plumber in Ohio. Simply because he criticized Obama's socialist plans, his privacy is being violated by Obama supporters in the state and local governments in Ohio. Has Barack made any attempt to stop this? Not that I know of.

OMG, what a huge game on Saturday. If the Horns beat Tech and run the gauntlet, they deserve to be national champs.

Campaign Finance Fraud

Much has been said about the Obama campaign's repeated violations of the campaign finance laws.

That Obama would see fit to break the laws is not the least bit surprising. He watched the Clinton administration get away with breaking almost every one of the laws back in the 1992 and 1996 campaigns, and also during Hillary's campaigns for the senate in 2000 and 2006. It stands to reason, if a law is not enforced, it will not be obeyed.

And above all, the left believe that laws are only for Republicans. They don't believe in law and order as a general principle. To them it is only a club to be used against their opponents, should the opportunity present itself.

IRA Terrorists Target Civilians in Northern Ireland

What peace accord? The IRA, not content to kill and maim soldiers and policemen in Northern Ireland, as well as their families, have announced they will also attack civilians:

Dissident republicans have added civilian workers to their death list. Civilian guards and technicians employed by the Policing Board have now been warned that they could be attacked and killed by Real and Continuity IRA elements.
Hundreds of workers who guard PSNI stations across Northern Ireland and technicians who install and maintain vital communications equipment are now at risk of terrorist attack.
Security sources claim the risk from dissident republicans is now “substantial” and say there is growing evidence that the two main dissident elements are networking more effectively to share intelligence information on targets, and to exchange materials and know-how.
“The latest intelligence information shows the two main dissident elements coming together to the extent that in some areas it is difficult to define who is with what group.
“They are liaising more than ever before and it’s suspected that they are exchanging bits and pieces of kit to help each other.”
“The threat from the two elements overall is assessed as substantial and more workers engaged on contracts for the Policing Board are now in the firing line”, one source said.
Dissidents are being blamed for orchestrating violence in Craigavon last week when vehicles were burned and gunfire was reportedly heard during organised rioting following the arrest of two local republicans.
There is now major concern that a planned demonstration organised by Sinn Fein for next Sunday in Belfast to protest against a homecoming parade for the Royal Irish Regiment after its Afghanistan deployment could lead to major violence with dissident elements planning to exploit the situation. And the risk to technicians who maintain vital radio communication equipment is being taken “extremely seriously” by the Policing Board.

Isn't that nice of them? Equal-opportunity terrorists.

To pay millions and billions in bonuses to the ivy leaguers on wall street who caused the financial meltdown:

No matter how badly the economy is doing and what shareholders in American financial firms have lost, it would be a shame to see investment bankers go without their bonuses.
According to The London Observer, "Financial workers at Wall Street's top banks are to receive pay deals worth more than $70bn (£40bn), a substantial proportion of which is expected to be paid in discretionary bonuses, for their work so far this year - despite plunging the global financial system into its worst crisis since the 1929 stock market crash, the Guardian has learned. Staff at six banks including Goldman Sachs and Citigroup are in line to pick up the payouts despite being the beneficiaries of a $700bn bailout from the US government that has already prompted criticism."
The news for Morgan Stanley workers is even better.
"At one point last week the Morgan Stanley $10.7bn pay pot for the year to date was greater than the entire stock market value of the business. In effect, staff, on receiving their remuneration, could club together and buy the bank."

Supreme Court to Decide ID-Theft Case

Those who favor amnesty for illegal aliens, including both John McCain and Barack Obama, want to do favors to people who break our laws. This is unfortunate because not only do illegal aliens violate immigration laws, many of them also commit identity theft. The WSJ reports that the Supreme Court will hear a case about this matter:

WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether people picked up on immigration violations also can face charges of identity theft if they use Social Security and other identification numbers that happen to belong to others.
Federal prosecutors have increasingly been bringing the more serious identity theft charges against undocumented immigrants, including many who were arrested in raids on meatpacking plants.
Federal appeals courts have split over whether the defendant must know that the phony ID numbers belong to a real person and, on Monday, the court said it will resolve the question.

I am amazed at the lengths that supporters of amnesty, like McCain and Obama, will go to to accomodate the lawbreakers. Back when they tried to pass the amnesty bill in the summer of 2007, the senate voted to give amnesty even to illegals who were convicted felons. If someone tries to legally immigrate to the USA, a felony conviction will usually disqualify them. But come in here illegally, and its ok.

Obama the Narcissist Fuhrer

If you have the stomach for it, read this very disturbing but quite probably accurate psychological evaluation of Obama. A few excerpts:

He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident – a wholesome presidential package. It is so instinctive for most people to want to see blacks succeed. When cheering for someone turns into adulation, something is wrong. Excessive adulation is indicative of a personality cult. The cult of personality is often created when the general population is discontent. A charismatic leader can seize the opportunity and project himself as an agent of change and a revolutionary leader. Often, people, tired of the status quo, do not have the patience to examine the nature of the proposed change. All they want is change. During 1979, when the Iranians were tired of the dictatorial regime of the late Shah, they embraced Khomeini, not because they wanted Islam, but because he promised them change. The word in the street was, “anything is better than the Shah.” They found their error when it was too late.

And don't think for one second that it will be all over and done with if McCain wins. We saw how the Democrats can be sore losers after the 2000 and 2004 elections. If Obama loses it will be much worse, because neither Al Gore nor John Kerry commanded personality cults like Obama does. There will be screaming, wailing, allegations of voter fraud, allegations that McCain stole the election, allegations of racism, riots, and who knows what else.

Sinn Fein/IRA Terrorists Vandalize Soccer Player's Car

Anyone who believes that hostilities have ceased between catholics and protestants in Northern Ireland hasn't been reading the news lately. In a shocking act of petty violence, the terrorists have taken their problems to Scotland:

RANGERS star Kevin Thomson's car has been vandalised by thugs outside his Edinburgh home.
The slogans "IRA" and "Bobo's gonnae get you" were scratched into the paintwork of his Land Rover He's the second Ibrox player to be targeted by vandals this month.
The attack on Thomson's Land Rover happened late on Sunday evening.
The midfielder called police to report damage to the valuable vehicle.
A Lothian and Borders police spokesman said yesterday: "Our officers are investigating malicious damage to a vehicle in the west of Edinburgh.
"It is obvious that this was not a random attack and we would like to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of it."
Just over a week ago, vandals scored graffiti on Rangers keeper Allan McGregor's Bentley and the Range Rover of his fiancee, Leah Shevlin.
The words "Holly Goaly"- a reference to Celtic's Artur Boruc, who is nicknamed the "Holy Goalie" - were gouged into the Bentley's silver paintwork.
It was the second attack on the international keeper's car. In March, acid was poured over it, causing damage which cost thousands of pounds to repair.
A spokesman for Rangers said last night: "This is the latest in a line of unacceptable attacks and threats against our playing staff.

For those not familiar with Scottish soccer, Rangers refers to the Glasgow Rangers, one of the two most prominent teams in the Scottish Premier League. The Rangers are favored by many protestants in both Scotland and Northern Ireland. Their main rival are the Glasgow Celtics, a team favored by many catholics in both countries.

In the last paragraph of the article, one sees why the Celtic's IRA supporters were so unhappy with Mr. Thomson:

Teetotal Thomson grew up in Peebles in the Borders. Rangers beat Celtic and several English clubs to his signature in January last year. They paid Hibs £2million for the midfielder.

And we think our professional sports have problems in the USA. In the UK, if you sign with the wrong team, you get attacked by terrorists.

Support William Ayers!

A number of academics have signed a petition supporting William Ayers , deploring the 'current characterizations of Professor Ayers---“unrepentant terrorist,” “lunatic leftist”---'.

One of their assertions:

All citizens, but particularly teachers and scholars, are called upon to challenge orthodoxy, dogma, and mindless complacency, to be skeptical of authoritative claims, to interrogate and trouble the given and the taken-for-granted.

That's exactly what I am doing, moonbats. I am challenging your orthodoxy and dogmatic claim that Ayers is a decent human being. He is a scum who belongs in a cell at Guantanamo.

Judge Him by the Company He Keeps

We have heard much about Obama's connections with terrorist William Ayers. But not as much has been said about Ayer's wife: Bernadine Dohrn. Dohrn met Obama through Obama's wife Michelle, when they both worked for the same law firm. Here is something Dohrn had to say in 1969:

At a 1969 "War Council" in Flint, Michigan, Dohrn gave her most memorable and notorious speech to her followers. Holding her fingers in what became the Weatherman "fork salute," she said of the bloody murders recently committed by the Manson Family in which the pregnant actress Sharon Tate and a Folgers Coffee heiress and several other inhabitants of a Benedict Canyon mansion were brutally stabbed to death: "Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim's stomach! Wild!"

Here is the medical examiner's diagram of the wounds that Sharon Tate Polanski received. An excerpt from the first homicide report where Tate, Folger, Frykowski, Sebring, and Parent were murdered:

The next victim found was Sharon (Tate) Polanski. She was inside the living room of the Polanski home, lying on her left side directly in front of a sofa which faces the fireplace. (For the exact location, see Addendum 1 and 1B.) Her head was to the south and her legs, which were tucked up towards her body in a fetal position, were to the north. Numerous stab wounds were noted about her breasts, a wound in the upper abdominal region and one stab wound in the right leg. She was obviously several months pregnant. There was dried blood smeared over the entire body. It appeared to investigating officers that someone had handled the victim, as in moving her from one location to another and the blood from the stab wounds had been smeared over other parts of the body.

A nylon rope, approximately 3/4 inches in diameter, was wrapped around Polanski's neck two turns. The two ends of the rope then went in a southerly direction, running parallel with Polanski's body. One end of this rope was wrapped around Sebring's neck, the remainder of this rope going underneath Sebring, parallel with the body. The remaining end which came from Sharon Polanski's body went up and over a ceiling beam, the loose end hanging on the other side of the beam, touching the floor.

Polanski was attired in a bikini-type nightgown consisting of bra and pants. They were multi-colored and blood-drenched.

These are the type of people Barack has been associating with. If he had one decent bone in his body, he would have nothing to do with Ayers or Dohrn.

IRA Terrorists Stashing Money with US Financial Firms

In a delightful twist of irony, the Sinn Fein/IRA terrorists have lost some during the recent financial meltdown.

The IRA may have lost a substantial amount of its fortune in the banking collapse in the United States, according to republican sources.
Sources say that in recent years the IRA's financial bosses moved large amounts of money through front companies into a number of Wall Street financial institutions that were offering high dividends, but which have been devastated by the sub-prime market collapse. One source put the amount invested in the US institutions at €200m. They said most of this was made through the sale of commercial properties mainly here in the Republic.
Advisors brought in by the IRA in the aftermath of the 1997 ceasefire directed that IRA money be invested in the then booming property market. According to the sources, the same people advised to get out at the top of the property market and sink the money into high-dividend deposit accounts in Wall Street in the past few years.

And the terrorists' bankers have been wining and dining them:

Mr Adams and senior Sinn Fein figures enjoy an extraordinarily lavish lifestyle in the US, staying in suites in top hotels and dining in top restaurants. During his visit to New York for this year's St Patrick's Day celebrations, Mr Adams had lunch with top Wall Street financiers at Bobby Van's restaurant on 54th Street, a favourite haunt of Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack in the Fifties and Sixties.
According to republican sources, however, large amounts were deposited with the very same high-yield financial institutions in Wall Street which were making extraordinary profits on the back of the sub-prime market in the US. The sources say that recent indications are that the IRA has lost heavily.

This matter should be investigated and anyone in the financial industry who is stashing the terrorists' money should be prosecuted.

Is There Any Limit to the Hypocrisy of the Left?

If there is, I have never seen it. Their biggest problem is they simply CANNOT STAND to hear opinions that contradict their own. In spite of their perpetual boasts of being 'liberal' or 'open-minded', they get a case of the vapors whenever they hear something they don't like, and will do whatever they can to silence their opponent.

One common tactic they often use to try to silence someone who expresses a conservative or classical liberal opinion on some political topic is to claim that the opinion is out of place at whatever time or location it is being expressed. Here is an example from a Yahoo group I subscribe to called Hunt-R-ESS. This group is for people like me who hunt with Springer Spaniels.

One of the participants posted a link to a website called "Hunters Against Obama". A fellow named Archie Hendrix responded:

Re: [Hunt-R-ESS] Hunters Against Obama - ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed. There are plenty of us hunters who are for Obama, and who see what eight years of a Republican administration has done to our great nation. But there are far more relevant sites on which to discuss those issues.

Archie is certainly correct that political opinions are irrelevant to a group about Springer Spaniels. But notice how he manages to insert his anti-Republican, pro-Obama opinion into the discussion anyway.

Why are the left so afraid of healthy debate? Could it be because they harbor misgivings about their own beliefs?

More About Barack's Buddy: William Ayers

For some years now, Barack has been hanging with a dude named William Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist who planted bombs at the Pentagon and US Capitol. He has justified this association by claiming he had no knowledge of Ayer's terrorist activities.

Now, via FrontPage magazine, we read of a young woman who was kidnapped and gangraped by Ayers and his friends:

Bill Ayers’ apartment was around the corner and a half a block away from the sorority house. The more time I spent there, the more out of place I felt with my sisters. Sometimes I would stop by just to keep from having to go back to a place I had begun to think of as boring. I guess it was one of those evenings -- maybe on the way back from the library, maybe just to get out of the sorority house, I don’t remember exactly. What I do recall is that when I was getting ready to leave Ayers told me I couldn’t go until I slept with his roommate and his brother. At this point Bill and I had slept together just once. I was sexually inexperienced, having had only one serious boyfriend with whom I had recently broken up.

At first I thought Ayers was joking. I got up; and went to the door. He moved quickly to block me at the doorway. He locked the door and put the chain on it. I went to the couch and sat down and told him that I had no intention of having sex with his roommate and his brother or him. He said that I had no choice but to do as he said if I wanted to get out of there. He claimed that I wouldn’t sleep with his married roommate because he was black -- that I was a bigot. I had gone to school with black kids and had them as friends all my life. I couldn’t believe he was saying that to me

I felt trapped. I had to get out of the situation I was in and because he was so effective a guilt-tripper, I also felt I had to prove to him that I wasn’t a bigot. I got up from the couch and walked over to the black roommate’s bed and put myself on it and he fucked me. I went totally out of my body. I floated beside myself on the outside and above the bed looking at this black stranger fuck me angrily while I hated myself.

After that I had to go lie down on Bill Ayer’s bed for his brother to screw me. Rick Ayers was a decent person, unlike his brother, and couldn’t go through with it He started and stopped and let me go. I also thought I had to let Bill screw me but at that point he unbolted the door and I left.

There is one part to this story that is so totally in character with someone of the left: Race baiting. "He claimed that I wouldn’t sleep with his married roommate because he was black -- that I was a bigot."

More Race Baiting from the Left

You can always tell when lefties feel themselves backed into a corner. They immediately start playing what they consider their trump card: Race. From Douglass Daniel of the AP:

WASHINGTON (AP) - By claiming that Democrat Barack Obama is "palling around with terrorists" and doesn't see the U.S. like other Americans, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin targeted key goals for a faltering campaign.
And though she may have scored a political hit each time, her attack was unsubstantiated and carried a racially tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret.
First, Palin's attack shows that her energetic debate with rival Joe Biden may be just the beginning, not the end, of a sharpened role in the battle to win the presidency.
"Our opponent ... is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country," Palin told a group of donors in Englewood, Colo. A deliberate attempt to smear Obama, McCain's ticket-mate echoed the line at three separate events Saturday.

Notice that Daniel doesn't just come out and call Sarah a racist. He's much too subtle and nuanced for that, instead he says that Sarah 'carried a racially tinged subtext'. Too cute by half. As for Obama's association with Ayers (a WHITE man), Daniel dismisses it rather lightly:

Her reference to Obama's relationship with William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam-era Weather Underground, was exaggerated at best if not outright false. No evidence shows they were "pals" or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career.
Obama, who was a child when the Weathermen were planting bombs, has denounced Ayers' radical views and actions.

Obama and Ayers were serving on the board of the Woods fund for the last three months of 2001, just after Ayers was photographed stepping on a US flag and saying he had 'no regrets' about bombing the pentagon and the US capitol. Ayers gave Obama his political 'coming out' party. All of this information was readily available to Obama at the time he chose to associate with Ayers. Anyone with the slightest amount of patriotism would never have anything to do with the likes of Ayers.

Sarah is correct to criticize Obama for associating with a known terrorist. Ayers does not belong in some party in Chicago with the Democrat nominee for president. He should be in a cell in Guantanamo.

And Daniel's absurd charges of a 'racially tinged subtext' are false, immature, and ludicrous.

Why is Obama Black?

Michael Sullivan at Burlington Free Press asks the interesting question: Why is Obama black?

I have one question concerning Barack Obama. Why does he refer to himself as black? Here is a man who is of mixed race, 50 percent black and 50 percent white, who was raised almost exclusively by his white mother. Other than providing 50 percent of his genes, his black father played no more than an absentee role as parent. So why does this man identify himself as black and not white, or at least as mixed race?

The answer is really quite simple, Michael. Obama is black because that is what got him into Columbia University as an undergraduate and also how he got into Harvard Law School. It is much, much more difficult to get into either of those universities as a white male. And it would be interesting if both he and his wife Michelle were to release both their high school and undergraduate records, as well as their SAT and LSAT scores.

If Barack Obama wants to help eliminate racial and ethnic bias in this country, he needs to start with himself and stop segregating himself on the basis of race. Until Barack Obama stops feeling the need to refer to himself as being exclusively of one race, then he is going to be lending legitimacy to the persistence of racial discrimination.

And likewise, the racist 'affirmative action' policies give legitimacy to the persistence of racial discrimination.

Bush: Effects of Financial Bailout Will Take Time

Here's what George says:

MIDLAND, Texas (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Saturday that benefits from the recently passed financial bailout would take time to show up in the U.S. economy.
One day after Bush signed the $700 billion rescue package into law, he sought to assure the public the government would be careful in implementing the legislation aimed at easing a credit crisis that has created turbulence in global financial markets.

Yeah, George. It might take as long as 10,000 years or more before any positive effects are felt.

Obama's Cabinet

Since His Highness appears to have a strong possibility of winning next month, I thought I would give him some suggestions for his cabinet:

Secretary of State: Jeremiah Wright. He can mollify our European critics by going over there and repeating his "GOD DAMN AMERICA!" sermon.

Secretary of the Treasury: Bawney Fwank. Someone has to do something about all the people made homeless by home foreclosures. Bawney will set up two new privately-owned GSEs called Fwankie Bawn and Jamma Obama. Their debts will be fully guaranteed by the government and they will purchase mortgages made to people who cannot afford them.

Secretary of Defense: William Ayers. He will order the Air Force to bomb the Pentagon, thus sparing himself and al-Qaeda the trouble.

Attorney General: Maxine Waters. She can encourage blacks to assault and murder whites, like she did during the 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, and then get them acquitted by all-black juries.

Secretary of the Interior: Al Gore. He will push for a ban on all carbon emissions. This will include outlawing all carbon-based fuels including petroleum and natural gas. Farting will also be outlawed.

Secretary of Agriculture: Michael Espy.

Secretary of Commerce: Barnard Sanders. Will call for complete nationalization of all businesses in the USA.

Secretary of Labor: Dennis Van Roekel, current president of the NEA teachers' union.

Secretary of Health and Human Services: Joycelyn Elders. Her top priority will be a program to teach children to masturbate.

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development: Franklin Raines.

Secretary of Transportation: Al Cowlings. His experience as OJ Simpson's chauffeur will be invaluable.

Secretary of Energy: Jane Fonda. Her expertise in all energy-related matters was made evident when she starred in The China Syndrome.

Do Investors Really Want the Bailout?

If it weren't such a serious situation, I would be laughing at the comedy being produced by the 'mainstream' and financial press concerning the recently enacted bailout of investment firms. An example from the New York Times:

Wall Street finally got what it had been demanding all week, a financial rescue package, but by the time the gavel fell in Washington on Friday, investors had turned their attention to other problems in the economy.
On Monday, the House of Representatives rejected a $700 billion bailout plan for the nation’s financial system, causing the Dow Jones industrial average to fall 777 points. On Friday, after round-the-clock negotiations, the House passed the plan, sending the Dow down 157 points.
It was a disappointing end to a cantankerous session. The Dow gained nearly 300 points in the morning in anticipation the bill would go through; when it passed, those gains were erased. But the afternoon swoon was less a judgment on the merits of the bailout than proof of a broader truth about the market: investors are always looking ahead.

Rather than twist themselves in a pretzel with this tortured logic, they could use Occam's razor to come to the conclusion that many investors did not want the bailout to happen in the first place.

The Times' writer notes that the DJIA fell by 777 points on Monday, but fails to note that it rebounded by 485 points on Tuesday, the day after the first attempt to pass the bailout by the House failed.

Let's Indoctrinate the Munchkins



I have seen this video posted on a number of blogs, including LGF, Michelle Malkin, and many others. Yes, it is disturbing. But what do you expect from Obama and his supporters?

But this doesn't worry me too much. These kids' parents can go ahead and make them sing the praises of Obama now, but once they grow up they will be mugged by reality. Some of them will be passed over for jobs or university admission because they have the wrong skin color. Some of them will be victims of crime, due to open borders and lackadaisical enforcement of immigration laws.

And all of them will get to experience the joys of paying federal and state income taxes, sales taxes, capital gains taxes, etc., and receiving almost nothing in government services in return.

Twenty years from now, many of those kids will look back at that video and ask "What the hell was I doing?"
