Robert Rubin Wants to Raise Your Taxes!
Mr. Rubin was Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton administration. Prior to that, he was senior partner at Goldman Sachs, an aristocratic Wall Street firm. Now he is one of the top dawgs at Citigroup. He has degrees from Harvard and Yale. Not surprisingly, he believes that he knows how to spend our money better than we do, so he is proposing to raise our taxes!
Far be it from us to question the wisdom of such a man of the people. But I wonder if he has considered sending the US Treasury a personal check from his own fortune, rather than forcing the rest of us mere mortals to pony up the bucks on his behalf.
What about those of us who never got to go to college, Robert? Or what of those of us who went to blue-collar universities like Wichita State or Baylor, instead of your elite alma maters? Do our opinions count as much as yours?
And what of those of us who work for Walmart as a cashier or work for a Chrysler dealer as a mechanic in the service department? Should the upper crust silk stocking crowd that you hang with have the right to tell us what to do with our meager incomes? Do you know how to spend them better than we do?
And why is it that your Democrat party claims to be the party of the little people, when it is run by the likes of you, John Corzine, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and so on? People with Ivy League degrees and multi-million dollar fortunes.
Better yet, why don't you get your greedy ass out of government and leave us alone?
