According to a criminal justice policy group, this is a racial injustice:
DES MOINES, IOWA — Blacks in the United States are imprisoned at more than five times the rate of whites, and Hispanics are locked up at nearly double the white rate, according to a study released Wednesday by a criminal justice policy group.
The report by the Sentencing Project, a Washington-based think tank, found that states in the Midwest and Northeast have the greatest black-to-white disparity in incarceration. Iowa had the widest disparity in the nation, imprisoning blacks at more than 13 times the rate of whites.
Such figures "reflect a failure of social and economic interventions to address crime effectively," as well as racial bias in the justice system, said Marc Mauer, the group's executive director.
You are asking the wrong question, Mr. Mauer. What you should research is: What percentage of blacks who commit crimes get convicted and incarcerated vs. white and hispanics? If blacks commit five times as many crimes, then it stands to reason that they should be incarcerated five times as often.

You are right on your question, but in todays world you are far away from being political correct.
I thought we were to now address (blacks) as African Americans, and (Mexicans) as Hispanic Americans and (whites) as the Stain of the universe, destroying, conquering and manipulating all-Americans!
But what I am I too know I am just a Vertically challenged American!
Ok, I felt that I better be serious. First off blacks are now having 70% of babies out of wedlock...
So the idea that the role of a father in the home might not be the hogwash that one says. Hmm
The real problem is not race but a multi faceted welfare plantation that our society created. From cradle to grave entitlements, entitlements entitlements.
And instead of the public schools teaching the classics, and actual American history we are having inner city school taught the bs that has no bearing on being an American. It is all the fault of another. Blame blame blame. In fact the public schools are taught everything unnecessary.
I grew up studying and having the American dream. No one could stop me, I could be do or achieve anything that I desired.
Well I am on a soap box...good post
I agree, Jen. There are studies that have shown that the number one factor in determining whether a young man will get in trouble with the law is whether or not he lives with his biological father.
I don't have a refernce handy, but if anyone does please post it here.
