Car bomb explodes in Newry

A CAR bomb exploded outside a courthouse in Newry last night, police said.
There were no initial reports of any injuries in the blast in the Co Down town, which was heard as far away as Tandragee and Markethill.Police said the vehicle was abandoned at the front of the building around 10pm.Officers were in the process of evacuating the area when the car exploded.PSNI Area Commander Chief Inspector Sam Cordner condemned the "reckless" attack saying it was only by "a sheer miracle that nobody was injured or killed this evening".Police said the blast happened about 10.37pm and that warning calls had been made to a hospital and a local business.
