Washington's Resignation Speech
One of the most important events of history occurred when George Washington relinquished his control of the Continental Army in 1783, to return to private life. He could have been king of the USA had he so chosen, but he singlehandedly decided that we would have a democracy in the USA.
Here is the original draft of the speech he made in Maryland that day.
Can anyone picture any of the heroes of the left, like Castro, Guevara, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, or even Bill Clinton doing such a thing after having acquired such power by commanding the US army to victory? Of course not. The left despise Washington and most universities don't even celebrate his birthday or Lincoln's birthday as holidays any more.
