The Washington Post: Race-Baiting's Ugly Face

Now I understand one of the main reasons why the left were so ecstatic over 0bama's victory last November. I can recall when Carter won in 1976 and Clinton won in 1992, and though they were certainly happy on those occasions, there was nothing like the sheer ecstasy exhibited in November, 2008.

Why were they so happy to see 0bama's victory? The left have long used race-baiting as a political weapon. But now that a half-black man is in the white house, they feel they have carte blanche to use race-baiting as a counterattack against anyone who opposes their policies.

The recent posters showing 0bama made up as the Joker from the Batman movie are a hilarious reminder of the destruction that can be wrought on a country's economy and political freedom by socialist policies. Predictably, several members of the left are calling them racist. One example comes from Philip Kennicott at the Washington Post:

So why the anonymity? Perhaps because the poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the "urban" makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can't openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and '70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness despite falling crime rates.

Hmmmmmm.... the late Heath Ledger was not black. Nor was the Joker character he played in the movie. The Joker character that Nicholson played in 1989 was no less urban than the character Ledger played. So where does Philip get this connection between the 0bama Joker poster and the race of 0bama's father?

The answer is simple: There is no connection. Leftists such as Philip Kennicott and Janeane Garafalo can't stand it when someone disagrees with their ideas. And since socialist policies have been a dismal failure everywhere they have been tried, Kennicott cannot effectly argue in favor of them. He must instead resort to a very immature, underhanded, red herring by making false accusations of racism. We can expect these ludicrous attacks to rise to a fever pitch as most Americans reject 0bama's stupid policies.
