Lawrence Wilkerson: Stupid Idiot of the Week

Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff to Colin Powell and fellow traitor to the Republican Party, has written one of the stupidest articles I have ever read in my life. In it, he compares Dick Cheney with Aaron Burr:

Burr would later kill Hamilton in a duel—after, as some historians record it, Hamilton had averted his pistol shot—and thus send himself into damnation so far as most of his contemporaries were concerned. Oddly, Cheney would only manage to shoot a friend while quail hunting and, apparently, on the booze a bit too much.

First of all, how can you compare killing someone in a duel -- where the intent is to kill someone--- with a nonfatal hunting accident? And how can you claim that Cheney was 'apparently, on the booze a bit too much' when all he had had was one beer approximately five hours before the incident? That is not sufficient for anyone to be intoxicated.

And then the idiot Wilkerson tries to compare Cheney's actions regarding Iraq and al Qaeda with Burr's atttempt to incite war with Spain:

Burr, in 1807 and no longer vice president as Jefferson had rejected him, would be tried for treason and for attempting to incite a war with Spain, among other nefarious dealings. John Marshall, never a friend to Jefferson, so narrowly defined "treason", however, that Burr was acquitted. Today, if Cheney were put on trial the results would likely repeat: If he were tried for war crimes, which he most assuredly could be according to U.S. law, he would be acquitted for fear that a conviction would be too tumultuous for the nation to endure.

The sly Wilkerson gives us innuedo, without any evidence at all, of Cheney's alleged 'war crimes'. The fact that Cheney advocated the invasion of Iraq -- something that was done on the orders of President Bush and with the approval of congress -- gives the simpleton Wilkerson the idea that Cheney committed 'war crimes'.

Who is One of the Primary Culprits Behind the Global Warming Hoax?

Our old pal Enron. Lawrence Solomon at Financial Post has written an essay on Enron's involvement in the Kyoto treaty and the promotion of cap-and-trade:

Almost two decades before President Barack Obama made “cap-and-trade” for carbon dioxide emissions a household term, an obscure company called Enron — a natural-gas pipeline company that had become a big-time trader in energy commodities — had figured out how to make millions in a cap-and-trade program for sulphur dioxide emissions, thanks to changes in the U.S. government’s Clean Air Act. To the delight of shareholders, Enron’s stock price rose rapidly as it became the major trader in the U.S. government’s $20-billion a year emissions commodity market.

Enron Chairman Kenneth Lay, keen to engineer an encore, saw his opportunity when Bill Clinton and Al Gore were inaugurated as president and vice-president in 1993. To capitalize on Al Gore’s interest in global warming, Enron immediately embarked on a massive lobbying effort to develop a trading system for carbon dioxide, working both the Clinton administration and Congress. Political contributions and Enron-funded analyses flowed freely, all geared to demonstrating a looming global catastrophe if carbon dioxide emissions weren’t curbed. An Enron-funded study that dismissed the notion that calamity could come of global warming, meanwhile, was quietly buried.

So what did Enron get out of this?

The intense lobbying paid off. Lay became a member of president Clinton’s Council on Sustainable Development, as well as his friend and advisor. In the summer of 1997, prior to global warming meetings in Kyoto, Japan, Clinton sought Lay’s advice in White House discussions. The fruits of Enron’s efforts came soon after, with the signing of the Kyoto Protocol.

An internal Enron memo, sent from Kyoto by John Palmisano, a former Environmental Protection Agency regulator who had become Enron’s lead lobbyist as senior director for Environmental Policy and Compliance, describes the historic corporate achievement that was Kyoto.

“If implemented this agreement will do more to promote Enron’s business than will almost any other regulatory initiative outside of restructuring of the energy and natural-gas industries in Europe and the United States,” Polisano began. “The potential to add incremental gas sales, and additional demand for renewable technology is enormous.”

It's too bad for Enron that their other scams didn't last long enough to allow them to capitalize on the global warming hoax.

0bama Administration Dismayed To Find British Press Are Not Their Lapdogs

With the exception of Fox News, and a few other brave souls, the media here in the USA are largely the lackeys of the 0bama administration. This is nothing new. They have always favored Democrats. But in the case of 0bama the press have brought their sycophancy to an absurd level.

In Britain, however, even though much of the press are also leftwing, they have no particular loyalty to the Anointed One. 0bama's press secretary has shown the typical leftist shock and dismay when someone disagrees with them:

"I want to speak generally about some reports I've witnessed over the past few years in the British media," Gibbs said. "In some ways, I'm surprised it filtered down."
"Let's just say if I wanted to look up, if I wanted to read a write-up of how Manchester United fared last night in the Champions League Cup, I'd might open up a British newspaper," he continued. "If I was looking for something that bordered on truthful news, I'm not entirely sure it'd be the first pack of clips I'd pick up."

Nile Gardiner at the Telegraph responded:

For all its talk of "raising America's standing" in the world after the Bush years, the Obama administration is doing a spectacularly bad job of reaching out to its allies. Unfortunately this is the new face of America's public diplomacy, which will only serve to alienate public opinion across the Atlantic. Congratulations Gibbs - you've just made an enemy out of the entire British media, quite an achievement for the man in charge of selling the President's message.

"You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker."

This is a video filmed in Philadelphia last November on election day of three members of the New Black Panther Party who stood outside a polling place and intimidated white voters and poll watchers. One of the racists carried a nightstick. Now we learn that 0bama's political appointees have overruled career lawyers in the justice department and ended the civil lawsuit against these racist thugs:

Justice Department political appointees overruled career lawyers and ended a civil complaint accusing three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense of wielding a nightstick and intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place last Election Day, according to documents and interviews.
The incident - which gained national attention when it was captured on videotape and distributed on YouTube - had prompted the government to sue the men, saying they violated the 1965 Voting Rights Act by scaring would-be voters with the weapon, racial slurs and military-style uniforms.
Career lawyers pursued the case for months, including obtaining an affidavit from a prominent 1960s civil rights activist who witnessed the confrontation and described it as "the most blatant form of voter intimidation" that he had seen, even during the voting rights crisis in Mississippi a half-century ago.

Here is what Bartle Bull, a civil rights activist who witnessed the intimidation, had to say:

Mr. Bull said the "clear purpose" of what the Panthers were doing was to "intimidate voters with whom they did not agree." He also said he overheard one of the men tell a white poll watcher: "You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker."

But of course, the racist 0bama administration approves wholeheartedly of what these thugs did.

Democrats Planning National Sales Tax

In spite of President Liar's promise that 95% of Americans would receive a tax cut, his minions are now planning a national sales tax, similar to the VAT tax that Canadians and many Europeans pay:

Still, Orszag has hired a prominent VAT advocate to advise him on health care: Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and author of the 2008 book "Health Care, Guaranteed." Meanwhile, former Federal Reserve chairman Paul A. Volcker, chairman of a task force Obama assigned to study the tax system, has expressed at least tentative support for a VAT.
"Everybody who understands our long-term budget problems understands we're going to need a new source of revenue, and a VAT is an obvious candidate," said Leonard Burman, co-director of the Tax Policy Center, a joint project of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, who testified on Capitol Hill this month about his own VAT plan. "It's common to the rest of the world, and we don't have it."

The only reason why we have long-term budget problems is because you idiots in the white house and congress can't stop spending. Taxes are high enough as they are.

Do Democrats Truly Support Hispanics?

Only if they are fellow leftwing robots spouting the 'progressive' bromides like ....diversity.....climate change....economic stimulus... etc. If they hold conservative/libertarian values, then they are persona non grata. An example is Miguel Estrada, whose appointment by Bush II to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals was blocked by Democrats. Some staff strategy memos for Democrat Senator Dick Durbin were revealed by the Wall Street Journal in 2003 (italics mine):

November 6, 2001/To: Senator Dick Durbin
"You are scheduled to meet with leaders of several civil rights organizations to discuss their serious concerns with the judicial nomination process. The leaders will likely include: Ralph Neas (People For the American Way), Kate Michelman (NARAL), Nan Aron (Alliance for Justice), Wade Henderson (Leadership Conference on Civil Rights), Leslie Proll (NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund), Nancy Zirkin (American Association of University Women), Marcia Greenberger (National Women's Law Center), and Judy Lichtman (National Partnership). . . .
". . . The primary focus will be on identifying the most controversial and/or vulnerable judicial nominees. The groups would like to postpone action on these nominees until next year, when (presumably) the public will be more tolerant of partisan dissent."

November 7, 2001/To: Senator Durbin
"The groups singled out three--Jeffrey Sutton (6th Circuit); Priscilla Owen (5th Circuit); and Caroline [sic] Kuhl (9th Circuit)--as a potential nominee for a contentious hearing early next year, with a [sic] eye to voting him or her down in Committee. They also identified Miguel Estrada (D.C. Circuit) as especially dangerous, because he has a minimal paper trail, he is Latino, and the White House seems to be grooming him for a Supreme Court appointment. They want to hold Estrada off as long as possible."

0bama Nominates Racist to the Supreme Court

Not surprisingly, President Racist has picked a fellow racist for the SCOTUS. Sonia Sotomayor, a federal appellate court judge, recently made a decision in the Ricci v. DeStefano case that favored racial preferences against white men who scored well on an aptitude test for promotion in the New Haven fire department.

Read how she thinks that being a woman and an hispanic makes her a better judge:

"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion [as a judge] than a white male who hasn't lived that life." -- Judge Sonia Sotomayor, in her Judge Mario G. Olmos Law and Cultural Diversity Lecture at the University of California (Berkeley) School of Law in 2001
The above assertion and the rest of a remarkable speech to a Hispanic group by Sotomayor -- widely touted as a possible Obama nominee to the Supreme Court -- has drawn very little attention in the mainstream media since it was quoted deep inside The New York Times on May 15.
It deserves more scrutiny, because apart from Sotomayor's Supreme Court prospects, her thinking is representative of the Democratic Party's powerful identity-politics wing.
Sotomayor also referred to the cardinal duty of judges to be impartial as a mere "aspiration because it denies the fact that we are by our experiences making different choices than others." And she suggested that "inherent physiological or cultural differences" may help explain why "our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging."

I wonder if any journalists, or any of the senators in the confirmation hearings, will ask Sonia why, if the USA is such a horrible place for hispanics, so many hispanics are going to great effort to come here? Don't hold your breath.

Colin Powell Still Claims to be a Republican

It is amazing how this guy can endorse 0bama and still claim to be a Republican. It would be like me claiming to be a Texas Longhorns football fan and endorsing Sam Bradford for the Heisman.

In the latest round of the increasingly heated intra-GOP feud, former Secretary of State Colin Powell Sunday defended his Republican credentials and fired back at radio host Rush Limbaugh and former Vice President Dick Cheney, saying the party had to expand beyond its conservative base.
“Rush will not get his wish and Mr. Cheney was misinformed – I am still a Republican,” Powell said in a much-anticipated interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation” two weeks after Cheney suggested on the same show that the retired general had left the party by endorsing Barack Obama last fall.
Powell outlined his party bona fides, noting his votes for and services under a string of Republican presidents, and said it was not up to Cheney and Limbaugh – the radio host has kept up a steady drumbeat of criticism since Powell's cross-party endorsement last year – to determine who belonged in the GOP.
“Neither [Cheney] nor Rush Limbaugh are members of the membership committee of the Republican Party,” Powell said.

There are many people, myself included, who were not thrilled with John McCain. But I never once considered voting for 0bama.

Colin Powell is a traitor. And now he will get to live the sad life of a traitor. He will find himself to be about as welcome in the Republican party as Benedict Arnold was welcome in Washington's army after he tried to hand West Point over to the British.

Ronald Reagan to be Honored with a Statue in London

The Gipper will be immortalized in statuary in London:

An interior designer from Chelsea who is a leading light in the Thatcherite Conservative Way Forward group has won approval for a statue of the great American conservative Ronald Reagan to be erected outside the US Embassy in London. The project was given the nod on Thursday night by Westminster City Council’s planning sub-committee in a break with its policy of allowing memorials only to people who have been dead for at least ten years. The former US President died in 2004 aged 93.

Just thinking about Reagan makes me misty-eyed. He was a man who cared about his country. He cared about freedom for people all over the world. He was sharp enough to avoid falling for nonsense like the global warming hoax. The current occupant of the white house posseses none of those qualities.

Massive Child Abuse in Ireland

A report has been released after a nine year investigation of child abuse in Catholic schools in Ireland:

DUBLIN – A fiercely debated, long-delayed investigation into Ireland's Roman Catholic-run institutions says priests and nuns terrorized thousands of boys and girls in workhouse-style schools for decades — and government inspectors failed to stop the chronic beatings, rapes and humiliation.
Nine years in the making, Wednesday's 2,600-page report sides almost completely with the horrific reports of abuse from former students sent to more than 250 church-run, mostly residential institutions. But victims' leaders said it didn't go far enough — particularly because none of their abusers were identified by name.
The report concluded that church officials always shielded their orders' pedophiles from arrest to protect their own reputations and, according to documents uncovered in the Vatican, knew that many pedophiles were serial attackers.
The investigators said overwhelming, consistent testimony from still-traumatized men and women, now in their 50s to 80s, had demonstrated beyond a doubt that the entire system treated children more like prison inmates and slaves than people with legal rights and human potential.

The report, unveiled by High Court Justice Sean Ryan, found that molestation and rape were "endemic" in boys' facilities, chiefly run by the Christian Brothers, and supervisors pursued policies that increased the danger. Girls supervised by orders of nuns, chiefly the Sisters of Mercy, suffered much less sexual abuse but frequent assaults and humiliation designed to make them feel worthless.

But get a load of what the 'Christian Brothers' did about this investigation

But its findings will not be used for criminal prosecutions — in part because the Christian Brothers successfully sued the commission in 2004 to keep the identities of all of its members, dead or alive, unnamed in the report. No real names, whether of victims or perpetrators, appear in the final document.

The bible gives us a good guideline for what the Christian Brothers, and Sisters of Mercy, should do:

5. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. (Matthew 18:5-6, KJV)

I'll be happy to buy some millstones for these losers. Anybody want to pitch in?

0bama Causes Damage to Nevadan Economy

More and more people are coming to the realization that the Messiah has feet of clay. 0bama has irked the governor of Nevada:

Carson City - The Office of Governor Jim Gibbons was notified today that President Barack Obama has refused to meet with the Governor and key business leaders from Nevada. Governor Gibbons requested the meeting in a letter to President Obama so the President could address statements he made that were critical to Nevada and have caused economic damage to convention business and tourism business in the Silver State. Earlier this year, the President told an audience in Elkhart, Indiana, "You can't get corporate jets. You can't go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayer's dime." That quote was seen by many as an insult to Las Vegas and as a message to companies across the Nation to stay away from Las Vegas for corporate meetings and conventions.

Wouldn't it be a shame if Mr. All-Things-To-Everyone ended up being nothing to anybody?

Is the Religion Founded by 0bama Still Winning Converts?

Here's one they didn't win over:

In February of 2008, I saw a new client, a bright and sensitive young woman who came in looking like she just escaped a war zone. In some ways she had; she had innocently shared with others at her job that she voted for Hillary rather than Obama. Immediately she was being targeted for abuse that put her in fear for not only her job, but her life.

We both suddenly became aware that something had grown really dark in the Democratic Party. I started hearing about many other incidents where loyal Democrats were being physically and emotionally threatened for supporting Hillary. A woman in Berkeley had her front window broken because it displayed a poster of Hillary. Randi Rhodes, an Air America talk show leftist, called Hillary a f______ witch. (Rhodes was recently promoted to a national talk radio show, illustrating another disturbing trend: the deafening silence about what Rush Limbaugh has dubbed the new "thug-ocracy.)

An acquaintance had her car broken into, and the only item stolen was a NoObama bumper sticker. A South Park episode featured an episode where a nuclear weapon was being aimed at Hillary's genitals. My local greeting card store sold very flattering cards about Obama, insulting ones about Hillary, and a Hillary "nutcracker." When I complained, the young male manager literally laughed in my face.

Incompetent Journalism

This is such a hoot. Kenneth T. Walsh at U.S. News and World Report claims that unnamed "GOP Strategists" feel that former Vice-President Dick Cheney is harming the party by speaking out against 0bama

Enough, already. That's the reaction of many Republicans to Dick Cheney's surge of media appearances to defend the Bush administration, especially on national security issues. "I don't think anybody would call him and say, 'Shut up.' It wouldn't work," says a GOP strategist who formerly advised Ronald Reagan. "He obviously feels that his work as vice president is under attack. But he is not our best spokesman." The concern among Republican strategists is that the public will think Cheney is speaking for the GOP, and this won't be helpful because the former vice president remains an unpopular figure across the country. Another prominent GOP strategist says Cheney should lower his visibility and give younger party leaders a chance to take the spotlight.

So do tell, Kenneth. Who are these GOP strategists? You don't name even one name in your entire article. That makes me suspicious that there is anyone in the GOP saying that at all. I suspect the true source of the discomfort with Cheney comes from the party currently in power in Washington. Walsh gives us a hint in the second paragraph of the article:

Meanwhile, White House officials are pleased that the abrasive Cheney is drawing so much attention. "The former vice president has made his views pretty clear, and the president has made his views pretty clear," an Obama adviser said today. "We had a big debate on this during the campaign, and the president sees it as a debate that has been resolved because the American people spoke so clearly [in the election]."

Well Mr. 0bamaadviser, then how come your party didn't shut up when George Bush won a decisive victory in the 2004 presidential election? We never expected you to, nor did you have an obligation to stay quiet.

It's called freedom of speech. Something you lefties often claim for yourselves but try to deny to those of us who disagree with your hateful politics.

There is more than just a whiff of fascism coming from Washington these days. It's coming from the arrogant statists in the 0bama administration and also from their lapdogs in the media.

How Bad is 0bama?

John Ray at Dissecting Leftism has some thoughts about 0bama's imminent choice for the Supreme Court

What anthropologists call "tribal values" are very widespread in the world: in Africa, the Middle East, Melanesia etc. They dictate ethical relativism. You have different standards of justice and morality towards people according to whom that other person is. Members of your tribe are treated much differently from non-members, for instance. Such morality is wholly antithetical to Western society, however, as Jeff Jacoby explains below.

It could be argued that Mr Obama's elevation of emotion over law is not, as I suggest, African but simply Leftist. It could be argued that what we see in him is the moral "flexibility" that characterizes Leftists generally. But I know of no previous Democrat President who has argued that the rule of law should be subordinated to emotional considerations. And there is a good reason for that. Any such advocacy could cause laws favoured by the Left to be disregarded too. It seems that only Mr Obama is so dumb as not to have figured that out yet -- despite his alleged qualifications as a lawyer. His law degree may be purely an "affirmative action" one.

Based on what I have seen in academia, it is quite possible that 0bama's law degree is purely an "affirmative action" diploma that did not require any effort on his part at all. The fact that he has failed to release his educational records from Harvard and Columbia, and the fact that the leftist media have not challenged him on the issue, make me very suspicious.

0bama was almost certainly granted admission to Harvard law school over much more qualified white and asian students because of his race. His refusal to release his transcript from Columbia and LSAT score make it highly likely that he was the beneficiary of racist admissions policies. And the whole story may even be worse than we think. He may have been given a free ride at Harvard, and allowed to graduate with substandard exam scores. Or possibly even allowed to skip the exams.

Regardless of what he did in college. It is clear that his selection as president was one of the most foolish decisions ever made by the American electorate. The USA has elected a glib marxist with a messiah complex. He has no knowledge of even the fundamentals of economics nor any patriotism whatsoever.

Megan Fox Says Guys in Their Twenties 'Are a Waste of Time'
How right you are, Megan.
The 0bama Depression Continues Unabated

The USA has not had such a bad economic downturn since 1980 when Jimmy Carter was president. But even the idiot Carter knew better than to give so much trouble to business as the marxist 0bama is doing.

Now we have 8.9% unemployment. Net loss of 539,000 jobs in April. So what is the glib marxist doing? He's busy scheming on how to enact a cap-and-trade tax on fossil fuels, that will raise costs to business, raise costs to consumers, and put several industries out of action altogether.

Advice from Colin Powell

Colin Powell is a former Republican who abandoned his own party last year. Now the traitor has deigned to give Republicans some 'advice'.

The Republican Party is in big trouble and needs to find a way to move back to the middle of the country, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said Monday.
Powell said the GOP is "getting smaller and smaller" and "that's not good for the nation." He also said he hopes that emerging GOP leaders, such as House Minority Whip Cantor, will not keep repeating mantras of the far right.
"The Republican Party is in deep trouble," Powell told corporate security executives at a conference in Washington sponsored by Fortify Software Inc. The party must realize that the country has changed, he said. "Americans do want to pay taxes for services," he said. "Americans are looking for more government in their life, not less."

Hey Colin, I got a bit of advice for you. Take your advice and give it to Barack 0bama. You're all his now. Republicans no longer have any interest in anything you have to say.

0bama's War on the CIA

Many people warned about how inexperienced in governing 0bama is, and how he has so often shown poor judgement. But some idiots decided to elect him president anyway, because he is 1/2 black and because he gives a nice speech. His inexperience and poor judgement are showing in how he has alienated the CIA. This is something no president can afford to do, because the CIA are his eyes and ears. Jack Kelly talks about this:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held two hush hush meetings with CIA Director Leon Panetta and Democratic members of the Intelligence Committee last week.
"Her fear and frustration have apparently given way to panic after word reached her of the CIA's reaction to the damage she, President Obama and other Democrats have done to the spy agency in the last three months, wrote Jed Babbin, a former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense, in Human Events May 1. "Pelosi learned that her actions and those of President Obama have so damaged CIA morale that the agency's ability to function could be in danger."
The upshot of the meetings was an unprecedented letter from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Silvestre Reyes (D-Tex) to Mr. Panetta, making a quasi-apology. Rep. Reyes asked the CIA director to "disseminate it to the CIA workforce as soon as possible."
But the CYA nature of the letter, and Mr. Reyes' pledge of more oversight are unlikely to mollify many at Langley.Other Western intelligence services regard the Obama administration with contempt and rising concern, an officer of the DGSE, France's military intelligence agency, told my friend Jack Wheeler (the real life IndianaJones) last week.
"All of us in our little community are worried -- us, our friends in Berlin, London, Tel Aviv," the DGSE officer told Jack. "It is not like the barbarians at the gates. It is every barbarian horde in the world being told there are no gates."

Those of you who supported 0bama for president made a blunder of epic proportions. You can say what you want about Bush or McCain and I won't argue too much. But 0bama is not qualified to be president in any way whatsoever.

0bama and His Jack-Booted Thugs

One of the reasons why I and many other economists oppose government intervention in the economy is because it causes inefficiencies and results in sluggish or no growth.

An even more important reason is to avoid the situation where government uses its power to get its way in the marketplace. This is why most socialist economies have become dictatorships. A powerful minority takes charge and suppresses opposition.

We are seeing this now, in the de facto nationalization of the auto manufacturers and financial institutions. The thuggish 0bama administration have threatened one of Chrysler's creditors in an attempt to force them to accept an unfavorable settlement of the bankrupt automaker's debts:

Thomas Lauria, Global Practice Head of the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Group at White & Case, told ABC News that Rattner suggested to an official of the boutique investment bank Perella Weinberg Partners that officials of the Obama White House would embarrass the firm for opposing the Obama administration plan, which President Obama announced Thursday, and which requires creditors to accept roughly 29 cents on the dollar for an estimated $6.8 billion owed by Chrysler.
Lauria first told the story, without naming Rattner, to Frank Beckmann on Detroit's WJR-AM radio.
Perella Weinberg Partners, Lauria said, "was directly threatened by the White House and in essence compelled to withdraw its opposition to the deal under the threat that the full force of the White House press corps would destroy its reputation if it continued to fight. That’s how hard it is to stand on this side of the fence."

This is what inevitably happens when you allow the government to control the economy. We can expect to see much more of this.

Are the 0bama Administration 'Repairing' US Relations with the World?

We have heard the conventional leftist wisdom many times. How the Bush administration damaged relations with countries around the world. Secretary of State Oinkubus has said it many times:

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday that world leaders are joining in a collective sigh of relief as President Obama's foreign policy team begins dismantling the policies of the Bush administration.
"There's a great exhalation of breath going on around the world as people express their appreciation for the new direction that's being set, and the team that's put together by the president to carry out our foreign policy goals," Clinton said after telephoning dozens of world leaders in her first five days on the job. "We have a lot of damage to repair."

"In areas of the world that have felt either overlooked, or not receiving appropriate attention for the problems they are experiencing, there's a welcoming of the engagement that we are promising," she said.

From the website of the Belgian Vlaams Belang party:

US Embassy Makes a 'Mistake'

26.01.2009 - Three weeks ago, all Belgian Senators of the Committee of Foreign Affairs received an invitation of the American embassy to attend the inauguration of the 44th President of the USA, Barack Obama, at the Brussels’ residence of the American ambassador. However, on the morning of inauguration day (January 20th), the US embassy made a phone call to our party, claiming the invitation was “a mistake.” Vlaams Belang was not welcome…

The behaviour of the American embassy is inappropriate for the world’s largest democracy. Furthermore, it is not the task of an embassy to become actively involved in the internal politics of another nation. By making a distinction between Senators on the basis of their political ideology, the US embassy does not differ from the so-called “democratic” Belgian state.

Vlaams Belang is the largest party in Flanders. When they come to power, are Hillary and her boss Barack going to have any clout there? I think not.

Jack Kemp: 1935 - 2009
Shooting Themselves in the Foot

If you can stand to watch it, look at the above video of Keith Olbermann interviewing Michael Musto about the Carrie Prejean/Gay marriage controversy (Extreme barf alert). These genuises have made the amazing discovery that a beauty pageant winner had.....gasp.....breast implants! Can you believe that? What will we hear next, that she hired a stylist to do her hair?

If there are any gays reading this, ponder the following: Are the likes of Perez Hilton and Michael Musto helping your cause? Do their immature, vulgar rants help gays look better in the eyes of heterosexuals? Can you draw more flies with vinegar or with honey?

I have not heard any gay activists speak out against the childish attacks on Prejean. The girl was asked her opinion on an issue! If Hilton didn't want to hear her opinion, then he should not have asked.

If you gays/lesbians/whatever want to lose more support for your cause, just remain silent while Hilton and Musto trash your image.

Racist Governor Costs New York Taxpayers $300,000

I wish I had a dime for every time I have seen a white man passed over for a job in favor of a 'person of color' in academia. The state of New York has settled out of court with a man who was fired for being white:

ALBANY -- Gov. Paterson, who raised state taxes by $8 billion last month, just cost state taxpayers $300,000 more.
The state has secretly settled an embarrassing federal racial-discrimination lawsuit, The Post has learned. The suit accused Paterson, back when he was Senate minority leader in 2003, of firing a white Senate photographer in order to replace him with an African-American.

If I lived in New York, I would demand Paterson pay the $300,000 personally.
